 | (Don Causey Note: Here at The Angling Report, the primary service we provide is accurate, objective information about places to go fishing around the world. Much of this information comes from subscribers who file detailed Trip Reports on the experiences they have. The rest comes from our stringer network around the world. The emphasis is on providing a stream of factual information that will help readers decide if various fishing destinations are right (or wrong) for them. This focus on factual information, up to now, has made it hard for us to figure out how to handle those nicely written personal accounts of fishing experiences we receive from time to time. |
You know, those totally un-objective vignettes and stories we all feel compelled to write, perhaps obeying a story-telling impulse we only faintly understand. What is remarkable to us is the quality of many of these vignettes. Hence this new web section called "Pleasurable Vignettes." Check this section often, as we will be posting new vignettes as soon as they come in. Maybe, if there is a lot of interest, we'll create a contest designed to recognize the best we receive. Perhaps commercial publishers will start monitoring this section, looking for tomorrow's top fishing writers? At a minimum, the section will provide all of you an outlet for your more creative urges.
