Fishing Contacts In Costa Rica
Article Date: May 1988
Rainbow trout fishing in Costa Rica? It's true, this peaceful little country that's been called the Switzerland of Central America has some right nice rainbow fishing in the Savegre River, two hours southwest of the capital city, San Jose. The fish run ten to 12 inches only, but the setting is spectacular. Package trips cost about $65 a day through Costa Rica Expeditions (*). This same organization, incidentally, is very good at putting together jungle tours and other such trips.
Another good person to know in Costa Rica is Peter Gorinsky (*). A world-class angler, Gorinsky operates what is apparently the only private guide service in Costa Rica. His specialty is fly and light-tackle fishing, He provides boat, tackle and transportation for personalized tarpon, snook and quapote trips to several of the country's out-of-the-way beaches and rivers. He also guides dove, duck and bob white quail hunting parties in season. - Bob Robb.........(continued)
