DESCRIPTION OF FISHING
Species Sought/Availability: Trout, Rainbow - Availability: Abundant
Char - Availability: Abundant
Salmon, Chinook - Availability: Abundant
Description of Catch Made: We started the first day of fishing at Green Lake near Whistler: utilizing float tubes, we used ultralight fly and spin tackle to take over twenty rainbow trout during the sunset period. On day two, Clint took us north of Pemberton to access multiple streams that we hiked to from the road through the bush to the water. I caught and released one beautifully-colored char about five pounds and pulled the (barbless) hook on two more. Further downstream, we saw many chinook salmon approaching 30 pounds. I briefly hooked one of these magnificent fish in knee-deep water, but in its final head thrashing before the big run threw the mandatory barbless hook. The size of the fish, racing waters, and snow-capped mountains above still created quite a thrill for this Florida flats fisherman.
Type of Fishing: Various combinations of ultralight to light to medium spin and fly tackle.

Description of Hatches:
Water/Weather Conditions: A heat wave was hitting this area, which caused more "melts" with rising waters with glacial silt. Finding clear streams, one had to be selective.

Highlights of the Trip: The exquisite surrounding plus the presence of closeby upscale Whistler Village makes the surrounding fishing a pleasurable surprise and bonus. We stayed at the fasionable Greystone Lodge. More importantly, Clint makes floatplane and helicopter trips to even more remote waters, which I plan to do next time.
