Roger Lynberg has good things to say about the bonefish fishing he enjoyed during a family trip to Abaco Island in The Bahamas, which he self-booked last May using resources he found on the internet. The trip, based in a rental unit in Hopetown (“historically interesting, with great food establishments, beaches, wonderful people”) gave him the chance to bonefish on his own using a rental boat and with a local guide, “Bonefish Dundee” – a.k.a. Maitland Lowe of Wild Pigeon Charters. He focused his fishing efforts on the Snake Cay/Little Harbor area, both on his own and with Maitland Lowe.

He rates Lowe’s guiding abilities as “excellent” and notes that he had a “100-shot day” with him in only four hours of fishing Little Harbor. The only problem Lynberg notes with the trip was pulling his rental boat off a flat at low tide when fishing solo. He gives the cost of the trip for himself and his wife as $6,000 for two weeks
