Phil Hansen has good things to say about the Green River in Utah as a trout fishing destination after a three-day float down the A, B and C sections of the stream last April with Spinner Fall Guide Service, personal guide Charlie Card. Hansen rates both guide and guide service as excellent across the board, though the local accommodations and food in Dutch John earned only “fair” and “good” ratings respectively.
Hansen tells us his trip produced 30 or so trout, all 14 to 20 inches, with most taken on patterns matching the blue wing olive hatch which occurred daily from 11 am to 3 pm. When the BWOs weren’t showing, Chernobyl ants were top producers. Hansen gives the cost of the fishing as $450 per day.
