That Simms plan we told you about several months ago to combat invasive species by helping lodges buy an inventory of wading boots to keep on hand has been delayed by a lack of product inventory. Simms, an Angling Report corporate sponsor (www.simmsfishing.com), is still committed to the plan and we hope to have more details next month. The crux of the plan is the creation of wader inventory at lodges around the world, thus making it unnecessary for traveling anglers to bring this kind of equipment with them. No waders moving around the world means no unwanted “hitchhikers” in the form of invasive species.

Until this inventory is created, anglers traveling from watershed to watershed, domestically or internationally, should take care to inspect, clean-dry, and if necessary disinfect all their fishing gear. It’s important that everyone does his part.
