Subscriber John Miao of Chicago is very pleased with a day of steelhead fishing handled for him on the Pere Marquette River of Michigan last November by Gabe Nyblad of Tail Chasin’ Charters (http://tail chasincharters.com). Miao reports going three for seven using centerpin fly methods and rods (www.center pinning.com). “I broke off my largest fish—a 12 pounder—when I tried to stop it from going into a logjam with an eight-pound leader,” he writes. “I did catch and release a nice eightpound buck steelie, however.”

Miao gives the cost of his day of fishing as $300. He says conditions were generally pleasant, with little wind and temperatures in the 50s. “It was a scenic and quiet time of year to catch some nice, healthy fish,” he writes. He recommends the experience to fellow subscribers.
