Claudio Tagini of Western European Travel (www.westerneuropeantravel.com) has earned another rave review for his customized fishing trips in Europe, principally Italy. The latest plaudit is from a professor at Penn State University, Daniel Linzell, who fished a tributary of the Fiume Toce in northern Italy near Stresa this past July with a guide provided by Tagini. Linzell writes:
“The guide Claudio arranged for me, Andrea Ceresini, was an expert fly fisherman and wonderful guide, and he let me use his equipment while also teaching me Italian and European fly fishing techniques. His English was more than adequate to position me on wonderful water that was full of beautiful little wild browns and marbles. We caught trout early in the day high-sticking with nymphs; later, we switched over to mayfly dries.
“I located Claudio and Western European Travel on the Web. Claudio handled all of the arrangements, from providing me with scheduling information to handling licensing arrangements to dealing with my incessant e-mails related to what equipment I should bring and when and where I should meet Andrea. Claudio was extremely enthusiastic prior to, during, and after my trip, and we have kept in contact since. I would recommend his organization to anyone interested in fishing in Italy, Austria, or Slovenia for a half-day or longer stay. He knows how to set up trips, and he will tailor everything to your needs. Eccellente, Claudio!”
