  • Highlights of the Trip:
Taking a fresh-run grilse from the Ballynahinch fishery (first grilse of the season there). Catching an excellent brown on a small, shallow lake in high wind. The fish seemed almost out of place for the water (2-4 feet deep across the lake) but it was in excellent condition and fought very well. Overall Irish scenery and hospitality are hard to beat. Although some of the fishing can be expensive, it was worth the cost and effort, even for those times when I didn't catch anything. We seemed to be extremely lucky in our choices of farms and B&B's as each was of excellent quality in truly beautiful areas. We felt like staying at each one for several nights instead of just one.
