Standing on the 25' boat's bow platform, it was great thrill to be targeting top water action all morning to boils of roaming fish, never quite sure of what would take the fly or top water conventional lures. The significant news is that all of this fishing took place WITHIN Culebra bay, which is bordered by Papagayo peninsula and the Costa Rica mainland. The protected bay is about 5 miles long by 2 miles wide. Apparently the tuna will move into the bay with changing ocean water temperatures. I caught yellowfin within 300 yards of the beach, and a 5 minute boat ride from our house rental. - Would you recommend this trip to a friend?:
